Homestead Shack
This homestead shack was the inspiration for the name "Antelope Valley Homestead Lavender". This twenty by twenty foot shack was built as a homestead in the late 1920's or early 1930's when the government would give land to people who would build a place and live on the land for a minimum of three years. It was required that crops be planted on the land for three consecutive years. The original owners of this property are still a mystery, but one day we hope to solve that mystery.
Today we have chosen to plant our lavender field on this property and are in the process of reinforcing the homestead shack to become our lavender work area and drying room.
